About footballinmyblood.com
Initially I had set up a blog site called indianfootballers.com to highlight the fact that Indian players were being overlooked by the professional game.
Young Indian Footballers have been chasing their dreams of becoming professional footballers for far too long.
From writing to clubs for trials and joining English Clubs on trial at youth levels in the hope they will get noticed, the dream has remained just that.
I still believe and will continue to believe that there are Indian players out there who possess the talent, will and desire to succeed but also have realised that a lot of them also give up too early as highlighted in my article "Are Indians only good at Youth Level?" (see February 2013 blog entry).
As a community we should share our ideas, beliefs and experiences and who knows one day get our own sides together that we ourselves can coach and go and challenge the academy sides of the Professional clubs.
After all if we are to be ignored nationally, then let’s build nationally each age group and instead of going cap in hand asking for trials lets go head on and say "We are here to challenge you, we are better than you"
Although I will continue to ask questions regarding Indian players, promote and highlight teams, I thought changing the name of the site allows scope for a wider range of football issues to be discussed, debated and written about.
We want to hear from you whatever your background, whether you are an individual, a club, whether you have played the game or never set foot on a pitch.
If you have any questions whatsoever please do not hesitate to contact us using the contact form under Comments.
Joogy.
